With the next LSA Bootcamp set for Portland on Nov. 1, we took a look at the SMB market there. According to an online audit of 70,228 Portland SMBs by BuzzBoard, almost half (46.2%) don’t have a mobile-ready website.
The mobile internet is now the primary way consumers look for local business information according to a 2015 consumer survey from the Local Search Association (LSA). This means these Portland-area businesses are at risk of losing sales when mobile users visit their websites and find a less than optimal experience.
Research from Google shows that in such circumstances a majority of mobile consumers will simply move on to a competitor. But in an increasingly complicated digital marketing landscape, SMBs across the country face a range of challenges not limited to mobile-readiness.
