Adoption of intelligent assistants like Siri, OK Google and Cortana has yet to take off, but new data suggests this is changing. According to a recent study, more than 60% have adopted voice search/commands within the last year, and more than 40% within the past six months.
In addition to growth in adoption, frequency of use is on the rise as well. 50% of smartphone owners in the U.S. use voice assistants daily or weekly, and the same percentage indicate overall satisfaction with them. Only 19% indicate dissatisfaction.
Overall, 63% of all smartphone users surveyed said they use voice assistants and 37% said they have not tried voice assistants yet. Given the recent uptick in adoption, these figures will likely continue to separate in favor of voice assistant adoption.
